The Gillom Sports Center Complex is a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose athletic venue for the use and benefit of the University of Mississippi Athletics Department.
A year-long project to touch up the Gillom Sports Center will begin at the end of May, athletic director Ross Bjork said. The 54,142 square-foot facility, which opened in 1997, houses offices and locker rooms for the rifle, soccer, softball and volleyball teams, contains three indoor tennis courts and is used to play home volleyball matches, but Bjork said the team will move to the Pavilion for next season.
“We’re redoing that whole building,” Bjork said.
Bjork said the renovations will cost approximately $11.5 million. The facility, which was dedicated in honor of former Ole Miss women’s basketball standouts Peggie and Jennifer Gillom in 2000, is located near the school’s intramural fields on Hathorn Road just off of Highway 6.
