Northgate Student Housing
Northgate is a four story 79,000-square-foot dormitory facility on the campus of the University of Mississippi. It consists of 383 beds, 2 residents per room with in-room bathrooms, ethernet hookup, wireless internet, and basic cable in each room. Each floor has a lounge, study area, conference room, and kitchenette. The building includes a service dog area for grooming and housing dogs used by residents of the hall.
Northgate was built on the site of two existing dormitory buildings that were demolished as part of the project. The site was steeply sloped and required the installation of two terraced retaining walls to support the 350-foot length of the new building. Construction was completed within a strict 18-month schedule, with students moving in at the beginning of the school year.
